Position Summary:
The Product Manager is responsible for a variety of activities designed to increase the value proposition for products to expand and enhance ASA’s Product portfolio. The Product Manager will set product strategy, prioritize features, and coordinate product schedules to ensure financial and engagement goals are met. They will manage all aspects of the product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities.
Primary Position Responsibilities:
- Defines and communicates the overall high-level product strategy and vision, aligned with business objectives, for all assigned products. Develops, manages, and communicates the product roadmap for product line(s).

- Gains a deep understanding of customer/member experience and needs, identifies and fills product gaps and generates new ideas to grow market share, improve experience, and drive growth. Create user stories for current and future products based on the market’s problems and needs. Champions voice-of-the-customer research and insights.

- Transforms product strategy into detailed business requirements. Responsible for financial performance of assigned products. In support of that, develops business plans that incorporate financial, competitive and market analyses to maximize ROI.

- Leads product management decisions for assigned products. Drives buy-build-collaborate analysis and, where necessary, reviews and analyzes potential collaborator relationships. Creates and develops annual product management life cycles for assigned product lines. Adheres to timelines and adjusts when necessary.

- Manages cross-functional and cross-departmental product management team, including internal and external roles, and related resources. Scopes and prioritizes activities based on member impact and cost. Identifies barriers and roadblocks; adjusts, advises, and mitigates appropriately.

- Builds and manages effective and productive relationships with vendors. Partners with developers on technical development and designers on designs of new products or product features.

- Develops and regularly reviews and updates product pricing strategy. Works with business development, marketing, and finance departments to establish documented pricing policies for designated products.

- Works with marketing and communications department to define the go-to-market strategy, collaborates on product positioning, articulates key features and benefits, and ensures understanding of the target audience.

- Keeps abreast of industry trends, member needs and behaviors for the assigned product line.

- Conducts and applies user research, market and competitor analysis, and qualitative and quantitative data to prioritize and drive decisions.
|
- Creates and maintains a variety of reports including status reports, charts, graphs, analytics, presentations, etc. for the purpose of documenting and communicating product vision, achievements, performance, and status of work in progress.

- Determines appropriate metrics and key performance indicators for assigned products. Monitors product performance and evaluates results; develops reporting processes and routines for communicating results.

- Develops, implements, and maintains quarterly OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) that align product initiatives with organizational strategy, ensuring measurable impact and continuous alignment with member needs and business goals. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to define success metrics, track progress, and adapt priorities based on insights and performance.

Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field highly desired.
|
- Minimum 5 years proven experience as a product manager; related and relevant work experience considered. Project or product management certification a plus.

- Ability to think strategically to drive success of product line.
|
- Experience leading inter-departmental projects. Ability to think innovatively and lead matrix team meetings.
|
- Ability to organize work, prioritize tasks, manage risk and meet deadlines is required.
|
- Ability to develop professional-grade product documentation to support the lifecycle of a product.
|
- Ability to analyze data, communicate with stakeholders, and develop recommendations for solving problems that are feasible within the existing environment.
|
- Effective problem solving, conflict management and meeting facilitation abilities are required.
|
- Data synthesis skills to critically analyze and interpret market research and other data, glean insights from that research, and apply those insights to develop business cases and plans.

- Financial modeling skills to create complex models simulating market, financial, and operational performance associated with launching and updating products and services.
|
- Written and oral communication skills, including experience presenting in a large group setting, with an ability to handle executive level discussions as well as technical deep dives.

- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office tools for the preparation and presentation of research and business cases, including extensive use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Familiarity with agile project management and Jira preferred.

ASA conducts market analysis of its positions, ensuring the compensation is comparable with jobs of the same level, skills, and abilities. Additionally, ASA believes in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer. ASA strives to be transparent with our pay practices both internally and externally.
Position Compensation:
This position is an exempt/salaried position. The target hiring pay range for this position is: $118,000 to $148,000 annually. This position is not eligible for a yearly bonus/incentive.
Compensation decisions consider a wide range of factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, skills, certifications, business needs, and organizational policies.

Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office environment with light noise. Work may be frequently interrupted. The employee will spend most of the workday sitting, computing, and talking/hearing. May require lifting (boxes) in the 10-25 lb. range requiring the ability to bend at the waist and knee.
